Cross Country Excels at Regional Meet

Our MNHS cross country team competed in regionals on Tuesday, October 25th. Kailee Critchfield, Rossi Lira, Alma Pena, Sierra Franjesevic, Katelin Kenealey, Nikki Morgan, and Libby Kennedy represented North in the 5A girls race. Lance Hulin, Charlie Fawaz, Ryder Culbreath, Carter Deyager, Elijah Diaz, Kiaan Doolabh, and Christian Guzman ran in the 5A boys race.

Although the course was longer than it was supposed to be, at 3.42-3.49 miles instead of 3.1, everyone ran very well.

The regional races lead into the state meet, with the top 4 teams advancing. MNHS placed 7th out of 24 in the girls and 8th in the boys. However, the top 10 runners in each race from schools not already advancing have the chance to run in state. Two of our runners, Kailee Critchfield (placing 25th with a 22:48.67) and Lance Hulin (placing 9th with an 18:04.58) will have this opportunity.

Coach Richards is proud of everyone that ran and is confident that the team will qualify for state next year.

Congratulations to everyone on their exceptional performances, and good luck at state!!
